“Music for a Summer’s Evening” is an event in St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Mount Stewart Street, CARLUKE ML8 5EB on the evening of Sunday 3rd August 2014 at 7.30pm.
This event will feature the legendary Scottish tenor, Alexander Morrison, a stalwart of the Scottish variety theatre scene for over fifty years, and a staple principal of Scottish Opera for over thirty. A singer with a very broad repertoire, he is known the world over for his renditions of operatic arias, Scottish songs, ballads and favourites from the musical stage, having appeared around the globe, including several engagements at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Joining him will be Feargus Hetherington, who is, without doubt, one of Scotland’s foremost and most versatile violinists. His repertoire encompasses everything from classical violin favourites by Kreisler, to traditional Scots fiddle pieces and even a tribute to the great jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli.
The evening will, as always, be presented, compered and accompanied at the piano by Gordon Cree.
Admission at the door is £6 per person, and this includes tea, coffee and biscuits etc. after the performance, which will last approximately one hour.
