The Crucifixion by John Stainer–St Francis Xavier Carfin

Sunday 29 March 2015 (Palm Sunday)

The main work is the famous oratorio; “Crucifixion” by John Stainer, although, there will also be a few other works/anthems included alongside this.

A scratch choir is being drawn together for this one off concert; so if you would like to join us, you would be more than welcome

The plan is to have one rehearsal beforehand (date TBC), an afternoon rehearsal on the day of the concert then the performance in the evening.

The conductor will be Des McLean, whom I’m sure many of you will know and the organist of St Francis (Derek Burns) is playing the organ. The tenor and bass soloists are still to be confirmed.

Anyone who is interested and willing to sing in the chorus, Derek would be grateful if you could please send him an email with name/s, part/s and if a score/s would be required or not, so that he can collate all the information together and would help tremendously with the planning.  Contact Derek by emailing webmaster.lanarkshireorganists@gmail.com
